Re: why resistor on green map wire well there are 3 wires to the map grey /green/ black its on the green one where im wiring the alky kit signal to any reason NOT to take off speak now thanks

hooking up alky i went to tap the green wire at the map and found a resistor taped up in here. truck had 2 bar map for 12 years before 3 bar chip and now i think this was a trick previous owner did to fool truck into seeing higher boost maybe? thoughts? anyone else seen this before? removing it...
