    Re: Whats the best thing to do? I'm using a '79 Camaro 8.5 in my 4x4 conversion. I don't have exact measurements yet, but it seems within a quarter to a half inch of perfect width. The early 70's cars could have had a 12 bolt but are narrower by a bit.

    Re: Half-shaft BANG The newer Trailblazer trucks have different front hub units. They stay together without the axle there. I barely moved my truck a hundred feet or so, without the axles, before the hubs started coming apart.
