When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready? You are spot on. It's a toss whether to take the truck, Miata or a bike. I come down out of my place and I never have to put a tire on slab. I hadda get a GPS so's I could find my way home. No traffic, CHP or 'tudes. Gotta fix this "dry county"...

When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready?

Re: When is the TN meet. Is Joe's garage ready? Hey - Last year I moved from SoCal to Murphy, NC. I just started lurking the forum again and stumbled on this thread. I am not sure I can make the meet but it is nice to see some stuff going on. The old Ty doesn't get out much. But it is great...

Next Meeting SoCalSyTy, Feb 7, The Hat

I sure hope to be there. I just spent last week in Scottsdale. My mother has an inoperable brain tumor (six months or so) and I was helping my dad with all the hospice stuff. (Bummer!!!) I did get DM loading into my new Vaio (wow - is it a lot faster).

    Supply for Starter Heat Sheild??

GM sells a heat shield for the starter solenoid. (About $5.00) That is the critical part. Ask your local stealer for one for a later model Blazer etc.

    Throttle Body Idle Screw Adjustment

The idle position is adjustable and should be the first thing you do before tearing things apart. It is a Torx head screw. You do need a scan tool to do it properly. The IAC position should be, in my experience, between 14 and 50 at idle with a warm engine.

    transfer case repairs

When I was analyzing my situation I spoke to Brian Hartman. He recommended securing Hyvo chain and sprockets (gears if you desire) as they would provide a superior product to the stock stuff. I never looked that far because I was able to get a brand new T-case for a very reasonable amount of...

    transfer case repairs

That sure sounds like the chain. You can get underneath the truck with it up on stands and move a front wheel back and forth. Just see where the backlash ends. If it is in the t-case, you should be able to hear the chain loading and unloading.

    Newer Z-28 w/exhaust vs. 99,800 mile Typhoon....

Yo Doug - Best be careful in the valley - they have got a ton of brand new laser units out and the police just love their new toys. Those nice long, flat streets like Winnetka, Tampa, DeSoto, Roscoe ETC are favorite hunting grounds. My Escort picks 'em up but only after it is too late.

    transfer case repairs

I believe the Sy t-case is specific to the Sy because of the size of the flange that mates to the rear drive shaft. Using a Ty case on a Sy requires a Ty drive shaft.
