I've been around for a little bit, but still am realy green with the ty's and sy's. I was working on my ty and noticed that the thin plastic tubing running to the turbo was cracked. Anyone know what the plastic tubing is refered to? Anyone know where I can get a replacement piece?

The small ones near the turbo?

Those are the vac lines connecting the wastegate solenoid to the wastegate actuator and the turbo itself.
If there is a leak then your boost control is gonna be really bad.

You can replace them with standard vaclines and use zip ties to affix them instead of those goofy factory "clamps".
You can get high temp silicon line as an upgrade.
(Dont use the cheap shit from autozone... it'll melt quick)
SyTyarchives, Ian here makes and sells a kit. He runs a gp periodically.
Dont think there is one goin on right now.

Just replace one line at a time so you know what goes where and you will be fine.


The big huge plastic "intake" piece layin on top of the radiator/fan shroud is called the crossover and they are tough to find in decent cond.
Over tightening the clamps can easily crack it and if the pieces find their way into your turbo you can kiss that compressor wheel goodbye as well.
Most folks opt to ditch it and the airbox and go to a open filter on the pass side somewhere.

If it is a thin black plastic tube that runs from your turbo to the opposite side of the engine bay it is your crossover tube. Mine cracked where you clmp it to the orange rubber elbow and my stock turbo ate a piece of plastic. Most poeple do away with the tube for this reason. Take the orange elbow off your turbo and make sure all the fins are there and nothing is bent up if a piece of plastic is missing. -- EDIT ^^beat me to it

Any autoparts store, ask for hard vacuum tubing. Take a peice with you so you get the right size. :D
