2002 GT Stang, lost out...

one of my co-workers has a nasty little GT he's slowly building up...

so far:

4.10 gears
Mass Air Flow
Adjustable timing gears
Intake
Nitto Drag Radials on the rear
short throw shifter (brand? forgot)


we always are jokingly going back and forth between the phoon, sy and mustang.... he knows what the trucks are, has big time respect for them and knows my sy can move when tuned...

finally got the chance to play...nothing serious...... pulled out with him from a roll, he punching out of 2nd and just came up on me hard... every gear he just kept pulling on me.... walked me good....

granted, he has mild mods, but the his GT when dialed in will do a mid to high 12... the 4.10s help him out a bunch....

my sy is so outta shape and lagging... :-?


plan to do a real matchup after some fine tuning on the sy and wait for some cooler weather... plus, go from a deadstop so i can have the launch....

Um, you think gears, an intake, and slicks are gonna give the stang a second and a half through the 1/4? He's probably running mid 13s, low 13s at best with those mods. EIther your Sy is stock or waaaaaaaaaaaay outta tune........

i wrote my sy is out of tune and lagging.... also ad in the fact that when we took off, my IC temps where hitting near 119 degrees.... plus the fact its been raining here everyday.... ever been to FL after it rains? humidty destroys HP...


realize the sytys dont have shit from a rollon launch... waiting for boost to build means a good jump for the other guy.... i'll give that to you since your a RT owner :roll:

my kill list is plenty full.... this was a friendly display of HP.

he knows he doesnt stand a chance when i have the truck fully tuned and we go from a stop in 1/4mph. i give him plenty of respect on the blue oval, as does he with the truck.

Hey Adam,

I know it's hard on the brakes, but riding 'em from a roll is GREAT for boost...

I know you don't want to do it, but sometimes duty calls.


Also, with a gutted cat and K&N and tube, my Sy was pretty strong from a punch and on the top.
I took out a DSM with Turbo, IC, controller and exhaust from a 90 punch on I-25 with pretty much just the above (afpr too and fp)
Hartman and I futzed with timing and wg-rod forever and it finally found a sweet spot.

I honestly think alot of it was airflow and timing.
Seemed to be that same Boost vs Timing choice the Buick needed...

What's needing the most attention, the usual "electrical oil change"?
I just DM'ed the Ty and realized that I have 5deg of knock now...
WhereTF did that creep from?, thought it started feeling a little anemic.

the sy hasnt undergone a tuneup ever since i took it off jackstands close to 6-7 months ago after it had been undergoing major suspension work, where it was up on jackstands for a good 8 months...

thats over a year now without a tuneup.... ouch.

its been my daily for awhile now while i went through the honda shizzy and got rid of it.... now i got the ty, the sy is going under full breakdown and tuneup....

shes going mid 12s on mild bolt ons where she likes it or not.


then theres my tranny which i think is going out very soon......






and i see dakata_know_it_all is well liked and known for his syty knowledge according to stangfreak...

Yah, dish has been daily driving the Ty and dropping me off on the way.
Wow this friggin truck falls out of tune quick!
It's kinda like a hot model girlfriend that gives great head.

typhoon is going to the track tomrrow night...

im on #1 rebuild.... i grenaded mine 2 weeks after pearson did his in KC99...sent the sprag through everything.... same guy rebuilt both of ours...i stayed with stock build... been holding up hella strong until now... its getting sluggish and really lush on the shifts... i hit the TV cable almost everyday and still cant get a shift point i like....

only time it does anything good is when its on cold startup....

effin FL heat...

spent my time screwing around watching the FAST crew work on Brian Fulops newly built ty with the PTE setup, using FAST program to dial it in...

plan to go back out within a week or 2 here...i'll let ya know

Adam I'm planning on going to the track tomorrow night for sure. I have a buddy coming in from out of town and he wants to go. Hope to see ya there. Get some people to bring some running Sy/Ty's so I can have some fun. I'll be on my slicks so hopefully be in the low 12's if the weather isn't too bad.

I ran 13.647 in my '00GT, ...with stock 3.27 gears and $30 all-season "pepboys" 224/60/16 radials. I would hope with 4.10s and DRs that he would be consistently in the low 13s (depending on the driver of course). I know some Mustangs are slower that SyTys, but they aren't THAT slow
