With all of the interest shown in developing this event for 2003 (last weekend in May OR first weekend in June) Mike Renz and I have started laying the foundation for the event. We have talked with a hotel that is 9 miles from the track (which we've also talked to). Both places are close to Pittsburgh PA.

We now need to know just how serious everyone is about making the event a GO. The hotel gave us a price of $64 a night, which is something you guys will have to take care of paying for if you want it. The track will finalize costs and our date/time by the end of September (at which time we'll know which weekend for sure). Based on this year's pricing we'd have to take a registration of $42 per truck ahead of time to cover the cost of securing the track. We'd need a minimum of 30 truck to do so, and the price may go up slightly.

What Mike and I'd like to ask of you guys is this. We need to develop some kind of a registration cost for everyone that is going to attend. We'd like to start with that $42 per person, then have you guys decide what else you'd like to have other than a track. T-shirts, trophies, conference room rental, catering, whatever could be added to that base $42 for registration. It's all going to be a possibility, but we need input from you guys to decide what to add.

Mike and I would like other's to offer to coordinate with us to provide t-shirts, trophies, etc. once we as a group decide what we want added to the registration. So please start throwing out ideas and volunteering to make them a reality.

We need to decide what we are going to do with this event by the end of September, so that the registration can be collected before the end of October. We've got plenty of time, let's get the ball rolling guys. Mike and I are not looking to dictate here, we feel we've arranged the basics for a good meet (excellent track and hotel), now we'd like to coordinate with everyone else to make this event as awesome as possible. Thanks

I will be there and will help with the racing program, maybe even Announce if BDubb will share the booth?
I am down with it Josh, it should be fun.

Sounds good to me.. I am interested. If I still have employment I will make every attempt to be there. Count me in.

Anything you need me to assist with you know how to get ahold of me.

Count me in. If you want to do trophies I have a place down the road from me that does them. I could take care of that.

BTT. What happened to all the interested people? :multi:

It seems to happen when it comes time to either part with money or offer time/services.

I've seen it many times since 1996 when I bought this truck. It's a rare disease that's only cured with retardicillin.

In a little while we'll have more thread's started on why there's no vendor support, no media attention, poor knowledge of these vehicles by car enthusiasts, etc.. And the clueless will still not realize why.

Dad and I will both be there - should be a BLAST! Once I have my truck and little bro's TTA finished (hopefully in a couple months - before it gets cold) I should be able to help out some. (Don't know what you'll need then, but keep me in mind if you need anything.)

I *may* mosey on over. Dunno, that's quite a haul for me as I make that drive a couple of times a year  . When I come over this weekend, just remind me to fork over the moolah if ya want it now. There will be plenty of opportunities between shooting gats and fishing...
