Re: 2nd Gen front brake swap with ABS

Couldn't post anything in the vault on that link, but I have a question about this upgrade to dual piston calipers. I went to the salvage yard earlier today and got the steering knuckles, dust shields, and caliper brackets out of a 1999 Blazer 4x4. The holes in the knuckles that the axle shaft goes through are bigger than the stock knuckles on my Ty. I know that you have to use the wheel bearing assembly from the 1999 Blazer to match the knuckle, but how does it mate with the CV axle on my Ty if the hole is bigger? I'm guessing that I just need to replace the grease seal on the knuckle and route the axle shaft end into the knuckle and hub assembly. Is this the case?

Apparently the newer bearings don't need a dust shield.

Oh, so the CV axle just mates right into the 99 Blazer hubs with no seal? So much easier. Thanks for the pics, they were good enough to let me see what I needed.
