Hey man, give the SHO some credit. Ill admit, the thing went WAY downhill in 1996 when Ford killed the MTX trans and threw in that dogpile V8. But the V6 SHO's were really nice cars, even if they weren't drag race demons. But thats not what they were intended for. I happen to have a 92 SHO right now that I love. Ive had 3 others besides it and they've all been great. Sure they're not rocketships, thats what my Typhoon is for. But its a really nice car and it handles amazing especially with some aftermarket struts/springs. It may get its doors blown off at the strip by a SyTy, but just try and keep up with it on a roadcourse without SERIOUS suspension work. Its not that slow either, though. Bone stock I ran a 14.9@94mph which I happen to believe is quite respectable. Just my .02 cents.

I hear ya man. Don't get me wrong...I love my SHO. It just does'nt hold a candle to what a SYTY can do from a stoplight. And, like I said, it really is'nt that fast anymore, being as so many new everyday cars are running mid to high 14's right off the show room floor...Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, etc. I used to think that a 15.2 second quarter mile pass was the shit! It's respectable, and more than adequate, but ever since auto manufactures began raising the performance bar, ( which is a VERY good thing ), it's becoming average. Think about it....back in '92 when your SHO was made, 14.9 for a full size, front wheel drive car was un-real! Not many grocery getters like that haulin ass! I too have finally broke down into the 14's with my "dog-pile" V-8, since I last posted on this thread. I added a cold air intake, removed the third cat and resonator, and replaced the factory mufflers with some Flowmasters. It produces the most awesome V-8 sound that makes me smile every time I leave a red light! What sucks is getting smoked by an old man in his 2003 Honda Accord!
Anyway, this is an old thread, and if I could go back, I would'nt have even said anything. I have talked to Makaveli on other posts, and he's pretty cool. Makaveli, good kill!
