so its a 90.8 lb difference

Well I'm jealous....



And as far as tranny weight goes, 90lbs additional weight for a tranny that should border on unbreakable isn't that big a deal (or shouldn't be in a 3500 to 3800 lb brick). Yes, it'll have more rotational weight and therefore might be slower, but how fast is the truck when its in the garage on jackstands with the transmission at the shop? I think this is as close to the "magic bullet" for transmission troubles as we're gonna find.

Good work Jeff. Good luck figuring out the transmission controller. What are you using? The GM stand-alone diesel controller?

Using a GM ecm for right now, mainly to see if it can be done.

If it works, I do plan to share that information with 80e customers from wiring diagrams, etc.

I didn't go with diesel one, as I found it harder to locate them in qty. And prices were much more.

For most people that want a easier install I would probably move them in aftermarket solutions if nothing else but easier wiring.

Once this testing is done I plan to offer a complete kit for people with everything you would need to bolt it in on the weekend. Crossmember, shift linkage, etc. through Turbotime and McCoy.

Preliminary pricing on stuff so far is very promising and shouldn't be as much as people expect.

If someone was in a big hurry to get this done, I have the kit available now. I just prefer to personally test any and all products I sell myself hence the test vehicle heading to the nats.

I show up....Been there on average at least once a week for more than two years now......Excluding that sabatical I took for about two months early this year......I hear the health plan sucks at JSM though......Might wanna look at getting something with accidental death and dis-memberment coverage......Hard to come work for cash, when you fear for you life from falling transfer cases, raging plasma cutters, and wild CNC machines.....

I have only injured you once, and that is with YOUR truck when I was asked to weld up the oil pan for you. Not my fault you guys dropped parts inside the oil pan and it blew a nice flame ball on top of your head while I welded it up.:myclone:

It is all good. The joke around the shop between all the locals is we need a webcam.

The fireball under Dobrick's truck that night was just one of several nights of stories.

There was this one time, when 4 of us decided to unload my lathe. 3k lbs of machine, and 2 engine hoists ALMOST works.

Why does the concept of "comedy of errors" suddenly pop to mind?

Buddy of mine sold an old milling machine (bridgeport type manual machine). Guy came and got it with a rollback. No problems until they were unloading it at the other end and it slid off the back of the rollback. Turned itself into a large pile of cast iron chunks. I wish I'd had that on film, only heard about it and seen the pile of pieces.

LOL... This nite was the ONLY time I have ever EVER witnessed Jeff walk away from a project and grab a beer.. I will remember this until the end of time... And as a result.. This was born...
