5w30 vs. 10w30 Mobile 1 Syn.

is there a difference between the two. Can we run the 5 wieght in our trucks. Or bad idea.

Yes, there are differences between the two (of course). The differences are: kinematic viscosity, pumpability limit, viscosity index, flash point. 10w-30 has higher flash point and higher kinematic viscosity at operating temp, so it is the better choice for turbo applications.

absolutely correct. i checked with ac delco
and mobil and both advise to use 10w-30 syn-
thetic oil. also ac delco is discontinuing
the upf and spf premium filters (i use the
upf 52). appears to be another dumb gm move
as they did not promote/advertise these pre-
mium filters very well and it was a real hassle trying to find them which naturally
resulted in a very low sales volume.
