um...

um...

Not if its AWD and that's a non Sy-Ty Trans...

Even if it was a stocker, I wouldn't trust it.

Call Hartman, put some parts in it.

If it didn't come out of a Syclone or Typhoon then it won't last for long...
There were specific parts used in our version of the 700r4/4L60 ..
Just out of curiousity what happened to the typhoon you were looking at??

Truthfully there is not much difference in a syty tranny than in a normal corvette tranny. There are a couple of larger valves that can be bought, and some orfices that are plugged, different shaft that GM has, servo that came in the corvette, and larger holes in seperator plate to help flow fliud, high flow pump, and HD springs, and a police gov. Gm could have done alot to the tranny but didn't.

Not to bust any bubbles or start a flame war but yes there are differences but not many. It's still a 700R4 with 700r4 parts. Everything is just super sized in the way of valves and pistons. You can make any 700 shift like a Sy/Ty with mods and the right part's. If your buying a tranny get a 90+. It will simplify things if you did get a Sy/Ty tranny because you wouldn't need to buy all the use less stuff. Since your going RWD you don't need the output shaft and that's probably the hardest part to find along with a complete VB.

Or you can call Hartman or Waller and have them point you in the right direction. I just rebuilt mine and found all this out for myself. Waller has a couple sitting arround ready to go out I think. Hartman is good but you need good paitents.

What did you think about the info I sent you? That was of my build and what mods I did.

So yes, a 700 will hold every bit of power if built correctly. There are a million things you can do but you need to know the right combo.

Ok well to tell you the truth when I talked to the kid he said the truck is not a typhoon it is a blazer converted to a typhoon and he said that he did everything right down to the interior. It even has the typhoon rearend in it. That is the same typhoon I was talkin about in my last post. He told me it has a 700r4 tranny in it and I have seen him driving it before he crashed it. So I know the tranny help up to him for the time he had it. Please let me know what you guys think thanks Eddie. Also I just found out this info today do you think it is still worth buying the truck?? Please let me know thanks Eddie

Damn I was going to ask the same question. But I have a tranny out of a GTA do I need to get a drive shaft out of a 2wd. And I also need a new diff. the old owner broke the little bolt that holds the center pin that holds the axle in place so the C clips dont fall out. The wheel bearings are making a hell of a noise and the seals are shot, my breaks are full of oil. And someone striped the access nut on the side of the diff. so I cant put gear oil in the diff. I found a breather tube so I force the oil through that tube. SO anyways up to what year could I go to on a diff? Thanks
