beautiful built - but i´m amazed how hard it is to find all the right engine parts and combinations for a bowtie built and how many parts you actually had to buy twice . crank, rods, turbo, headers....

that 4-link never went into production i guess?

Yeah I would say that if I had to do it over again I wouldn't do a bowtie build. Maybe I would use the bowtie block but just not the crabk. But in the end it will all be worth it or at least I hope so

When you go deal shopping you've got to be very careful and very educated. That's often very difficult in a niche market like this where information isn't readily accessible. Every step of a bowtie build will be a learning experience.

Well trans and transfer case are in the truck. Jsm crossmember needed to be moved forward in the truck 1 inch and now that is in also. The front propshaft is out getting lengthen and just have to take final measurements for the drive shaft

Re: 9 sec Bowtie build

So some told me I should update my build thread bc it will keep them motivated on there build. So here goes.

I fitted the 5 inch intercooler in front of the radiator and still go it to fit behind the grilled without having to modify the grill in any way and that was important to me
I def had to cut the radiator support to get clearance for the new intercooler piping.

Once I got it installed I actually couldn'the stand the fact it was silver so I ordered the Eastwood radiator paint and painted the core and end tanks black so it blends in better with the front end and behind the grille

So one the front mount was in and secured the truck went off to the fabricators for the last time. As it need to have a 4 inch upper intercooler built with a tial bov welded on and the 3 inch lower intercooler.

While it was there we went back and forth as I was really considering putting the exhaust out the hoodoo the fender. Lucky for my I have a fabricator who is smarter then I am and wouldn't allow me to cut up my truck. He fabricated and amazing 3.5 downpipe inside the frame rail and then slash cut it right by the trans it looks amazing and can't wait to hear it.

Then sent the intercooler piping out to continue the gloss black look I have under the hood

Last issue I ran into was I went to test fit the good mark 2.5 steel cowl hood and sure enough it hits. But if your fimilar with the hood it has the cross bracing across the hood but there is added room above the bracing. At first I was worried I was going to have to go to a 4 inch cowl which I'm just not a fan of. So we started looking and figured it wasn't a factory hood so it we cut it no big deal. Mind you throughout this whole project i haven't cut one thing on the truck yet. So we cut the x brace out of the center still leaving the glued parts intact to ensure no flexing. This isnt a finalized pic but just to show u what we did. Once we where done we evened them up and made it look factory

Right now we are finishing the fuel system up pictures to come and then we just have to figure out some type of throttle linkage for the the 90mm tb and we are ready to fire up.

Looks nice sir!, i will be mounting mine in the lower stock location. It will be smaller but i will be running on E98.

Yeah I'm going to be running e85 but the stock location is very restrictive bc air flow and also heat soak from the hot pavement. But e85 or 98 will take care of that issue

Nice job fitting a decent sized a2a in there with a thick radiator and not cutting the grille. Gives me hope maybe it can be done with 2 more cyls in there as id like pretty much what you have done.
Everything on the truck looks really really nice..
