Ive got a friend in my class w/ a vr-4 galant that has a cyclone motor from japan, a huge front mount and is boosting at least 20 psi, after leaving school 1 night we ran it from about 30 mph, and it was neck and neck, shut it off at about 85-90 still neck and neck.

Oh wait did i forget to mention that we were neck and neck while i was only rear wheel drive and misfiring?

There is no 'cyclone' motor for the galant in japan. Same motor as US spec car. He is BS'n you.

With a few free mods they can be pretty quick.

This sounds like just the condition your truck should be in when doing wot blasts up to 80!! Fix that misfiring....then go and get him!

peace.

Cyclone motor in VR4

Cyclone motor in VR4

Actually, im not sure if the cyclone motor came in the vr4 galant in japan, but it did come in the first gen five speed eclipse, and it will bolt right up in a US vr4 galant or US eclipse and talon w/ just very slight wiring changes. The only real difference that im aware of is the intake manifold, its a dual runner instead of a single runner. I have a first gen Talon tsi (awd turbo) with an automatic tranny and wiped motor that i paid 800 bucks for. i was going to put that motor in it since the rest of the car was in such good shape, and the cyclone motor is fairly easy to come by.
