Run out to Jim's house to pick up new turbo, and look things over.
I make it all the way home and to work, go to lunch and truck is hard hard starting. Slow turning over. It finally fires up to the most GAWD awful squeeling noise. I get out and pop the hood and see that the belt is turning to dust. So I shut it off and investigate and see that the ac compressor clutch face area is hitting the side of the pulley and locked solid.
These trucks are a PITA. So much for having to mow the grass tonight :)

Buddy brought tools and started removal process while i was in my last hour at work. We yanked old compressor and headed to u wench it. We pulled simikiar unit (larger pulley) and reinstalled. We had to make parts store runs for larger belt but all is back up and running.
What a difference! I think noise from bearing was causing false knock because truck starts immediately ( no lugging like before ) and pulls harder than ever. WHo knows how much Hp was going the way of friction when the bearing took a crap. ITs alive and roadworthy. Now all i have to do is clean up all the dust from the old belt and crap that came out of the ac clutch.
