I am sure lots more people own vettes than Ty's.
Still doesn't change the fact that our trucks handle like crap in the real world. I know they have good skidpad numbers and in a perfectly smooth corner they handle decent but as soon as I hit a bump mid-corner it gets scary.
If you have ever done skidpad testing, you realize how much of a strange test it is. Watching vehicles drive around a circle. About as boring of a test as you can imagine.
Yes the skidpads are smooth. Bumps in the corner upset the solid rear axle. Bumps mid corner upset any car. Independent rear handles it better, but any bump in a corner upsets the chassis of any car/truck or suv.
The Sy/Ty are heavy truck chassis. A good portion of the weight on the front tires. A constant AWD split. They understeer. Stock suspension is fairly high. Torsion bars. Its really not setup to handle. Its setup - in other applications- to tow/haul/move things around. Just in the case of the Syclone/Typhoon its only really setup to haul....ass. At least in a straight line.
Put a rear sway bar on it. It will keep the feeling of the car wanting to "tip" over to a minimum. It will also improve the understeering situation. A good set of tires. Good set of shocks to control the axles movements. Whatever you can do to get weight out of it.
