Alcohol injection?????

Ok after all the happy people on here Im looking at goping with Acky inj. soon.My question or questions are what Alcohol to use??Methanol, Glycol,Ethanol,etc???What products are the found in(ie:Windshield washer fluid,De icer)??And Im in Sand Diego so where might I find these products??Would I need to take a trip to AZ or Vegas??Ive read on the benefits of it but dont know where, what or how to get it.Any feedback would be great.Thanks!!!

I use Methanol only. You can find it from usually at a high performance race shop or a local race track. Call around, you should be able to find it. In Indiana it runs me about $3.00/gallon. I buy it 5 gallons at a time.

Some people use denautured alcohol. You can get this from just about any hardware store. It will run you $8-9.00 a gallon.

Methanol is the best for performance, but is harder on the seals of the kit. Check with your alky kit supplier/manufactor about any precautions. I have used methanol with my razor kit for 3 years or so with no problems.

San Dawg Eh? I live in Poway. Qualcom is running Friday the 23rd. You going to be there? I'd like to get up with you, and see that stil as well. Might have some interest in that. I'm waiting for my 10n1 chip to arrive, and then it is onto replacing my fuel pump, installing the FPR, pod tower with two guages for boost and Fuel press. ZQ8 steering gear box, and drives side motor mount. Wow, I have alot of work to do before Friday. I want to see 8.5's Friday, so all I can do is hope.

Mines on jackstands right now with the fuel tank out waiting on Detroit Turbo to get me my pump and harness kit.Hoping to be there this weekend.Engine noise has me nervous though.Yeah might have to pick up a still.Read that you can make the alcohol for fuel and actually get a tax write-off as well.With the price of gas???Why not.Plus make some great drinkin as a passtime!!! :rotf:

Thanks Six!!!! Just called around and found a place that has 5Gal. for $35 and normally stock it.So what about the Windshield fluid?Worth using, for the price or ???

Oh hell no. That is some nasty stuff. It will clean the tar off of asphault.

Methanol. You can get it for ~$2.25/gal and it lasts and is good chit!

Oh hell no. That is some nasty stuff. It will clean the tar off of asphault.

Yeh I know its pretty bad, we use it to clean stainless steel and if your not careful it will eat right through your gloves. It does say on the can that its extremely flamible though and it does have the ability to freeze stuff. When you spray it out of the bottle a couple of times it will freeze the end of the bottle shut!!! I just wanted to make sure you shouldnt use it though, because I dont know?? :tup:

We quit using MEK at Learjet in favor of MPK.
Methy Propyl Keytone.
Doesn't clean as well from what I hear, but the evaporative rate is slower.
