can an ultimate pull back enough fuel to run alky?

It's all about finding the fuel pressure setting for a given day.
You need a WideBand to get it right. That's my experience with the Ultimate with stock injectors.

Re: Alky install

I started to install mine and I found something under the battery....it was this round, globe like black thing with a hose coming out of it. Do I need this thing?
I am putting the pump under the battery...

Re: Alky install

The vacuum ball isn't necessary at all. Just remove it and plug or remove the line.

Re: Alky install

I am also looking everywhere to find out about where it would be best to hook up the 12V On/Off W/Ignition wire....I have no clue where to locate that wire....
Trying to install my Alky Kit.
Looking for pity! And layman instructions.

Re: Alky install

You can just chuck it and cap off the vac line or take it out too. On the fuse box there should be a couple terminals labeled "ign" for ignition. Shove her in there. And don't forget to run a power wire from the bottom of the relay to your alternator or the post on the firewall for your main power for the pump. That can be an easy step to skip.

Re: Alky install

Well, I made a vac "ball" out of a short section of PVC and mounted down by the pump. Alky install not complete but I did drive the truck and cruise ect still works. Whatever, never tried it without.

Regarding the key sw thing. I know there is a space available (at least on my truck) on the fuse panel. I think is says ign. Put a test light on it and see what u get. That's what I did for my gauges and it worked. Will be doing the same for the alky. Hope to finish Sat, well see. Making some progress though I bought a gallon of alcohol from the hardware store.:)

..and my instructions here have me straight to the battery.(from relay slot 30 a black wire with fuse to battery)
How does this sound to you?
Please Advise.

Re: Alky install

If your battery has been relocated like mine, you won't want to run long cables all the way back there. I tapped into the main + lug on my alternator for most of my accessories. You can also use the hot post on the firewall. Just be sure to fuse those wires!

Re: Alky install

Oh, that may be what my instructions said too. I don't know which is necessarily better. I do know the firewall is easier and so is the alternator. You should get the same voltage from each. Jeremy has his run to the alternator I think, and mine hasn't had any trouble taking power from the firewall. Just run that power wire to the little slot on the bottom of the relay and make sure the fuse is in there like they say. That part confused me for awhile, I think the fact that it was a black wire with the end on it threw me off, that's just what connects to your power. Let me know if you run into problems or questions.

Where is that..is that right behind the engine?

Re: Alky install

Above and to the left of the engine (if you're looking from the front of the vehice) There are like 2 posts with wires coming off of them and nuts holding those wires on. Those studs are for 12v power.

Re: Alky install

Hey live1053rulz
Now I notice that I knock at around 15psi, does this mean I need more fuel?
If so which way do I turn the bolt to increase the fuel pressure?
(I loosen the allen screw in the middle and adjust it by the thin bolt correct?)
Almost done!!!

All the ball does is give you vacuum capacity so that your HVAC controls work when the truck is not running. If you get in your truck and move the selector from defrost to vent, you'll hear the HISSS and hear parts moving. If you remove the ball, you'll just lose the ability to change the HVAC stuff without the truck running.

... or when under boost, right?.

Knocking could be caused by a lot of different variables. You can try adjusting the FP, I believe the nut is just for locking. The alan stud protruding through the middle is for adjustments if I'm not mistaken. I still have to figure mine all out, I need to drop the FP for alky or my truck senses knock and boggs down. Hopefully I can get started on that today.
