Took it out and washed it for the first time since new paint. Shiny! Location is soccer complex where I go and try to keep up with young dudes half my age, LOL. Win some, lose most. Looking for a pro to do decals.

Hard water stains suuuuuck!

Best way to remove / prevent them? First nicely painted black vehicle I ever owned so no experience.

White distilled vinegar?

Removal..... not sure on new paint.
Prevention? Paint at least 6 months old for total cure? A good wax. Meguires gold class is easy to apply & buff. And I have been using an RV water filter for washing all my vehicles for years. Recent purchase was 2 filters from Wallyworld for $25.....I think. A single filter will last a couple of years of washing for me. Just a mineral filter, I do believe... but you can see in rinsing you almost don't need to towel dry. :2cents:

That's resourceful. Paint is about 5 months old. Washed it and got the white staIns all over where I didn't get to dry fast enough. Contacted the painter and he shared an easy and irather nexpensive solution.
He suggested I use a wax based spray concoction. Went to walmart, got some wax wash for like 5 bucks (good for 100 washes it said), got a spray bottle, got some R/O water, mixed about 2 teaspoons in the bottle, filled the rest with water and went to town inside the barn where is cool and shady.

My truck's SHINY again!!:woot:
