Another 4L80E distick option

PATC sells an OEM-style 4L80E dipstick tube with a locking dipstick that fits in our trucks like the stock one. It bolts in the same as stock and clears the block and firewall with no problem. The only difference I noticed is that it is about 2" longer than the 700R4 one. My 4L80E came with a shorter dipstick tube, so I cut down the PATC tube and used the other dipstick. The PATC tube should still clear the hood with no problem without cutting it. If you do cut it down, the full marking on the dipstick should be even with the bottom of the transmission case / top of the pan gasket.

My truck doesn't have the stock intercooler hard lines anymore, so I can't confirm it will clear those, but it looks like it's in the same position as the stock tube.

You can buy it on this mess of a website (a little more than halfway down):

The usually have them listed on Ebay too:

I like this.. I never did care for the braided look of the Locar, or the floppy-ness, or the price, or the fact that there is no good way to secure it into the tranny.. Good find.

Not sure why no one uses the stock 80e dipstick tube....it fits just fine....well did for me anyways.

I used the stock 80e stick. To me, the Lokar is a pile of shit. It took me 30 minutes to get my fluids down that tiny hole, not worth the look IMO.

Lol. I too :rant:ing hate the Lokar. Main issue for me is it is too short and I seem to bash my had trying to get the dip out. Add to the fact the damn thing is hard to fix anywhere and it's a lost cause.

I threw the PATC option out there because there seems to be more than one style of stock 4L80 dipstick. I had 2 different styles of stock dipstick and neither one fit right.
