Anyone ever tried running straight alky?

I'm thinking a set of 160lb bosch injectors-

A tank full of of alcohol and some tuning with the wb. Is it that simple?

Change programs and switch back to gas when you get home from the track. Drain most out through the fuel rail. Is this nuts or what?

I'm considering the same setup.

I wouldn't leave the Alky in there overnight or anything, but it won't hurt it in a race-only configuration. Flush some regular gas through when you're done.

Keep in mind, your fuel pump has to support the injectors you're putting in.


CART, IRL making 1000+ HP on <3 liters.... can't be too bad of an idea.

I thought alchohol had lower chemical energy per weight than gasoline. I thought it is used in racing because it is safer (fire can be put out with water, and water dilutes it instead of spreading it). Sure they make good HP, but they would be making more with gas. I realize you're planning bigger injectors, but....
Dunno, can't remember exactly....maybe it's the alchohol kicking in.
('course I also have gas, but we won't go there....)

I think its possible. This cme to my mind also since i run Julios kit with pure methanol and i love it
I didnt have the time to get in the tech info in order to know how to tune the engine. I already have an agressive advance map so i need to know A LOT before i start with it.
