Anyone running the PEP yet!

Can't take it. Someone needs to get the damn thing installed and drive. Then give us some feed back. Thoughts on purchasing the rights to the DPT coil over set up specifically the rear and making things happen. I think the product was quality. Whats something like that worth?

PEP makes a rear kit already, and it has its own front kit.

I have my front installed, my rear susp. is arriving this week. No results for you on the front, since I tore the rear apart while the front was being done.

As far as I know, I have the 2nd truck that the rear suspension will be installed on, Howard's being first. It is much different than the ladder bar setup than DPT had.

Not sure what you mean about PEP purchasing the rights to the DPT setup..
that is just out of the question and absurd. PEP's suspension quality is much higher than anything DPT ever churned out (or gurgled out, whatever verb you can think of that more accurately describes Al's practice), and you pretty much just insulted PEP by suggesting they should purchase anything DPT. As if anything was trademarked or copywritten ?!

From an engineering standpoint. Yes I have an engineering degree, the design left a few things to be desired. SAFETY was 1.

IMHO the DPT rear suspension and brake kits were not as well thought out (or tested) as the DPT front kit.

I don’t think you would make much money or even recover your costs selling anything associated with DPT in the online Sy/Ty community. By and large, confidence in Al’s work has been shattered. You’d have to provide PROOF that the suspension was soundly designed.

Do you have the capability to do that? If so, why not design your own? Also, what is your mfg. Capability? Do you have your own shop? Or were you considering contracting it built? Lots of cost involved, and I don’t think that the DPT rear suspension is a “take it and run” proposition. Even if the design is sound, it is not perceived as such, and that is a point worth noting.

It would be nice to see more suspension options for Sy/Ty’s.

Agreed. Sorry if I misunderstood, I posted early in the morning.

While I think that the PEP kits will work very well (initial impressions of the hardware, layout, and PEP's knowledge), they aren't for everyone. You are talking $4000 for both the front and rear kits, lots of labor to install; if you are paying someone to do it, don't even ask what it'd cost. That's a lot of moolah for anyone to spend on these trucks.

If there were something available for much cheaper, that still yielded good results, they'd definitely be a popular item. Problem is, time invested to design, test, and market, then what profits they would yield a vendor, and so forth.

I think the PEP kits are well built, but I still would reinforce the front shock towers for added piece of mind since they will be holding the weight of the truck now.

It's recommended to add some material at the shock tower to frame area. We welded some here to strengthen. We'll see how it goes otherwise.
