Atr headers and crank trigger

Okay so I am installing some new parts on my sy and one is a crank trigger for the ls1 coil setup. Problem #1 is the atr header, it hits the crank trigger sensor bracket. I may be able to grind it some and if I am able to mount the sensor bracket in the full up position I think I can get it to work. Not sure if I can mount it in the full up position though as that will change the spot where the magnet is.

Just wondering if anyone has ever run a trigger with atr headers and just looking for basic suggestions. I took a few pics and they are on my website.

I would suggest finding a place where the pickup will fit, and then fab a bracket.

I don't have ATR headers, but I have a crank trigger mounted on the driver's side.

There may be another option if you want to modify your distributor. Use the pickup coil in your distributor as the crank trigger. Extend the distributor shaft and put a magnet in with a hall effect sensor for the cam sensor. The distributor shaft extension would have to be made, but the magnet and sensor are available from MSD. The distributor cap could be cut or modified to work with the hall effect.

just mount the pickup in the 2 o clock position, and rotate the wheel so it picks up the signal at the proper BTDC time.

I got the trigger to work today. If you look at my new sy pics at my website you can see the modded bracket and redrilled wheel. After I looked at I realized how easy it would be to fix it. If you see the pic of the wheel the holes in the center are the ones I drilled, the one next to it that are drilled are the ones Nolan drilled and on the other side are the ones the wheel originally came with. The bracket came out real nice, I took the adjuster off and the bracket the sensor fits in has 2 pegs to help center it, well the top peg I put in the hole where the adjuster was and the lower peg went in the slot and then I redrilled the hole for the bolt to tighten it.

Hope that helps anyone that comes into the same problem. Now I just need to work out the rest of the bugs and get this thing up and running again.
