Depends on yer intentions.. Daily driver ? I'd say keep the stocker.. If you wanna go waaaay fast Air2Air seems to becoming more popular with some folks here lately. All depends on yer goals and dreams, and more importantly, you WALLET.

My suggestion is make sure the OEM setup is operating at TIP TOP shape, ie hot wired IC pump, good flow, no kinks in the lines etc.. Should be more than adequate.

Wanna improve STOCK SETUP ?? Get some fans for the lower CAC Rad, and a shurflo pump.

for performance on the street, nothing will beat an air/air... liquid/air intercoolers are difficult to remove heat soak from. air/air as soon as you move again, the heat soak is gone. plus air/air is lighter and simpler....

but that is my .02.

I'd have to agree with that. Air2Air is simple compared to the stock Water2Air. NO Pumps, NO Hoses, NO Leaks.

As an added benefit, an Air2Air frees up some space under the hood, which on these trucks, is at a premium.

I thought I rememberd reading that the shurflo isn't as good on a stock ic as the jabsco is. Reason being that it flows so fast it dosen't give the coolant a chance to cool down enough. I could be wrong though. My memory isn't the gratest.

Air/Air is best for street driving. Stock IC sux at intercooling on the street. You need lots of fans and heater hose going everywhere. A nice front mount IC looks way better anyway. :D

im also interested in the use of custom AIR/AIRs as far as using one thats not intended for use with they sy/ty? the ford one ive been seeing on ebay has the in/out ports going towards the back and not out the sides and also the famous starion IC, anyone using one of these or seen it done on a syty??

The Ford one is HUGE... not an easy job, not a clean job...

The Starion is much smaller, but I don't think it'd work well either (just my opinion).
