Went to the track tonight and blew something. First clue was the rad header tank was clear full. I normally have it about 1/2. Anyway the truck runs fine. Doesn't crank like it has any weak cyls. and there is no water in the oil. The problem is it's pushing water out about as fast as I can pour it in. Blown head gasket or cracked head I'm guessing.:rant::rant::squint::squint:

Might be a few days before I get it down. Will pull the plugs tomorrow and at least try to see which side it's on.

Blown head gasket, #4 into water jacket. Will pull drivers side on Monday just to be sure. The block looks good, but I'll have the heads checked anyway. Will switch to Cometics I guess. See how #6 piston looks dark? Not sure if that's oil or a rich inj. Thinkin' I'll send the inj's in anyway since I'm this far along.

OUCH!!! Don, Makes me want to let the Ty sit for another few months. Hope its something simple. Is there smoke? Leaking on the ground?

pressure test it, HOPEFULLY its something small, you've come to far to have something like this happen.

you don't see a lot of people actually racing their stuff on a regular basis.

Overflow tank? Yes

It's pushing water out the radiator.

I would go with a head gasket/crack head as well. Most of the time you can tell what side of the engine it is on by looking at the plugs. What do the plugs look like? What does the oil look like?

Did you do 2.02 valves in the stock heads, or no?

Betting on a pushed gasket between #3 + 5.

I did not go to 2.02 valves.

Oil is clean like I said and at normal level. Plugs look wet. More so on the pas side. I'm just gonna pull both heads. Doesn't make any sense to go this far and pull 'em both.

Unless I make good progress tomorrow it'll be next week before I have an answer. Will post pics.

I had this happen to me.... went with cometic head gaskets and so far haven't had a problem since! I figured running high boost levels it would be a good idea to run better head gaskets and ARP studs. Good luck Don, let us know what you find!

Actually it does... cost of a head gasket you don't have to buy.

And, an exhaust manifold you don't have to take off.

I'd compression check first.... ID the bad side.

I could not agree more! A compression check will tell you a lot here:tup: You may only have one bad head gasket, but you might have two. Or the head gasket may be fine......I hope it's only one head gasket:2cents:

so did you have a log to look at to see what caused the faliure? i assume it detonated?
