Bogging issue / TCC Lockup issue?

Hard to explain with words, but here is a video:

Runs good, mostly, till we hit around 40-45mph when the TCC locks up? The issue is that I think its locking up too soon and is causing really slow acceleration when crusing. If you watch, i didnt let go of the gas when it dropped in rpms, i'm assuming this is the tcc locking up?

Let me know where to start! Thanks!

Does it do it when the vehicle is not up to operating temp? Iirc, the converter clutch locks at 42mph (on the stock chip). The tcc won't lockup until the engine temp reaches ~150*f. If it does it when hot but not when cold it is probably the tcc lockup. I had to modify some of the setting on mine as a result of it bogging and shuddering when it locked too early, I still need to mess with the lock/unlock tps% tables some.

I will check on the temps, its def doing it when its warmed up.
Yes I have the stock chip. Maybe its time to swap to Code59?

Would a datalog help to determine what is happening.

It doesnt look like your getting the hard 1-2 shift like your suppose to an shifting too early in the rpm range.

My best guess is you need to re-adjust your tv cable.

Do what Harmon said and if it doesn't fix it, then try barely holding the brake pedal down enough to engage the brake light switch. The ecm wont lock the converter when it thinks the brakes are on.

Re: Bogging issue / TCC Lockup issue?

I had my tranny guy adjust the TV cable, he said it should be tight, but not super tight.
The truck was shifting REALLY hard, like violent hard, so we took the tranny apart to check the accumulator spring, which was good, and he took apart the valve body and checked it and it all seems ok. He actually replaced a plate in the tranny because he said whoever had it apart last put the wrong plate in there... But he is thinking there is a billet servo or something in there to cause the hard 1-2 shift. Before I was just doing the push down on pedal adjustment.

Would that cause it to have super slow acceleration though? Could there be a tcc clutch problem?

I'll be gone a few days, but I will try it and get back to you.
Someone at the nats should be able to help me though ;)

Um, dude....It shifts hard like that from the factory. Its suppose to. If the cble is not adjusted right, you wont have the correct line pressure and will not be shifting into gears when the truck is suppose too. Make sure you follow the manufacture specs to adjusting the tv and not some tranny guy (they still think its a kickdown cable).

It feels dangerous hard, like a modified race tranny hard. Maybe thats just how it is though, which is fine, I just didn't want to break anything.

I will re adjust the kickdown also, i mean tv ;) Just feels weird with the TCC lockup like that, never had anything that did that before.

I appreciate the help though! Just want a nice ride without breaking anything... yet at least!
