Code what?
So it's been on my todo list sence 05 for my Syclone build, and that build is on hold due to funds at this moment ive decided to focus on the Typhoon. My Ty has always been a goal to keep fairly stock and reliable as a daily driver and several hour trips. The mods are simply stock mods, 20g 14cm (forge gate), L35 heads, 50# Injectors, coil over's front and rear, trans has a HD rebuild and the engine is a stock rebuild with .030 speedpro's. I have only $700 in the stock rebuilt long block so I thought what a great test mule to learn BS3. I would rather learn on a $700 motor than a $7,000 motor in the Sy build. The Typhoon is healthy and ready for action with the BS3, I will document as much information in the thread as possible not only for myself but to help others who decide this may be the route for them.
My best prior to the engine rebuild was a 8.37@81mph with a ATR pitbull at 15psi. The mistake I made was not running the ATR chip in the 1/4mile before switching to an Ultimate stock injector chip. I was craving more boost and wanted to try it out and it just ran .30 slower in the 1/8th on T1 16psi. It was knocking from 10-14kr around the 1/8th through the end. I changed the FP up/down 5psi and no change. Best I could do was 13.5@98 at SAR. I was pissed, calm but pissed. I parked it and decided to pull the trigger on the BS3, I want the best for my SyTy's and this felt like the perfect opurtunity to learn. After seeing other's results with BS3 within the last 5-6yrs I have never been on the fence. I'll do this write up to let you guy's decide whats best for your build with my end results as I will follow all the way through with the tuning process.
I have limited time for working on the Ty but at this point im halfway there and decided I should share. I know others on here have BS3, not sure what systems or results as the few I do know of. Im running a standalone DAI with internal datalogger, I've decided I wanted a new harness and junk the stock old harness as hardly any of it will actually be used anyways. I will post pics and help with questions but I dont want this to turn into a debate for code59, turbotweak or other custom stock ECM tuning. I'd like this to be a go to thread for those who decide they want max effort out of there build and are not scared to tune themselves.
