Bump/click when I reverse and turn (after replacing hub)

When I roll back in reverse I hear a bump/pop and clicks, its not crazy loud but its easy to hear kind of like someone hitting the swaybar with their knuckles. When I move forward it bump/pops back into place(I guess) and is back to smooth and quiet. It only happens in reverse at an angle.
This started after I replaced the FR hub so I'm thinking the nut holding the halfshaft is not tight enough? I torqued it to the specs the instructions said so F them if it's wrong. What do you guys think?

Sounds like it's loose. What was the torque spec on the instructions?

Re: Bump/click when I reverse and turn (after replacing hub)

thats the right torque spec. How about the hub bolts, they're notorious for backing themselves out

I had the same noise on mine, turned out to be the torsion bar mounts!!! That may help you a bit....

What brand of hubs did you get? How much were they? Where did you get them? My coilover frontend is completely brand new except for the front diff and hubs and I have all kinds of popping and clunking when I back into my driveway. I've got over 150k miles on the original ones so I'm pretty sure they are at the end of their life. I saw them on EBay for $89 a piece but wanted to hear some feedback before purchasing.

I still get an occasional pop when I back up... I have non-abs hubs on mine, lot cheaper

i had a similar noise after getting my control arm bushings changed, im not sure what it ended up being as the dealership just said that one of the bolts had come loose. Not much help i know, but just make sure everything is to spec on the front susp.

I'll be switching to non ABS hubs as I deleted my ABS already so a link to teh cheaper ones would be mucho apreciated. Thanx.

Well I think you may be right. I re-torqued the nut to 180 for the fourth time this year this time with a brand new torque wrench and its exactly the same. I back out the driveway and POP, then I roll forward and click, click, click then nothing. It's a bit different on different surfaces like pot holes or offroad bumps, but pretty much guaranteed if you backup and turn the wheel to the right then drive turning the wheel to the left.
I removed the hub completely this time to check it out and checked the three bolts holding it and everything was perfect. The hub was smooth and the grease looked good and the three bolts were tight. I didn't see anything strange on the half-shaft end. If it IS actually the half-shaft then what part exactly is making the noise? Also what do you guys torque it to?

Mine makes that noise too. I believe its torsion bar mounts also.
