Can we use ZR5 rear-ends?

Re: Can we use ZR5 rear-ends?

And it is also not true that every truck with a V6 and a 5 speed had the 8.5, if it was the regular cab with the bigger 190 HP engine then it would have the 8.5, but most woudl have the 180 HP engine and even though it was a 5 speed it had the 7 5/8 and if it was an extended cab same deal. ALL ZR2 suspension trucks or blazers had the 8.5 front and rear and 3.73 gears only, no option there also they all had the G80 locker.

If your running the stock wheels and tires it wnt work, but if your running aftermarket ZR1's with 17x11 out back and the usual 1.50 spacers or so to get them to line up with the front then a ZR2 rear would be a direct bolt in and will match up the wheels and tirs with the cladding with no spacers needed, andbe much stronger than the stocker.

Im currently trying to find out of its possible to swap in the ZR2 8.5 front diff as well for greater strength and more options when it comes to front lockers, like the etec locker or the ARB air locker woudl be a sweet option.

Why worry about shortening the ZR2 rear end? Just get 2 more front rims if you like the tinny factory wheels so much. Wouldn't it be nice to finally be able to rotate them?
