Chicago area Newbie

I have a 93 Typhoon (0893) that I bought 2yrs ago. The truck is in terrible shape, but I plan to fix it up. I haven't done much to it because I have a couple other projects to finish first (pair of 96 Impala SSs). Once I get into this project though, I wanna do it right. I would love to meet some fellow SyTy owners because I really don't know much about these trucks.

Welcome to the madness! You'll soon learn these trucks are labeled as "permanent projects."

But seriously, when done right, there's nothing like them. You've got some good "locals" in your area, and I'm sure they'll chime in.

I'm in Elk Grove and Chicago, depends on the day. I'm learning everyday about my truck, if I can help I will.

Thanks for the greetings. I have a feeling this one might be the biggest project of them all. Did a complete rebuild of the trans. I also did the entire drieline. Now I'm waiting for brake and shocks to arrive .

Re: Chicago area Newbie

The Ty rides like a rocking chair when I brake. I ordered Bilstein shocks for all 4 corners. I ordered Raybestos slotted/drilled rotors and Raybestos Prof. Grade Ceramic pads. National Wheel bearings. I also have a rear disc setup I bought off ebay (S10 warehouse) last year. right now my main goal is to make it a safe reliable backup vehicle. I gave my son my DD (Civic) and the Impala is in the shop regularly. So I need the Ty to get around when the Imp is in the shop
