Custom Cam

I'm considering possibly going with a custom cam. Where do I begin? I'm doing a vortec conversion with either stock valves or the 2.02 and 1.60 valves combination. At the present, I may go with the Comp 415 but wanted to know if there are any added benefits to going with a custom cam. Code 59 is in the future for my truck eventually. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated:

50# injectors
atr downpipe ext wg with pte44??
inline hi flow fuel pump
msd 6a
egr delete
cat delete
vortecs w/2.02 and 1.60 valves
phil long v5 50 chip
2500 stall

before you waste any money find out what cam that phil long chip is tuned for. otherwise it will just run slower.

i have a truck in my shop now that came in with a built motor(cam, vortecs, etc) and a phil long chip. The tune was soo far off it was ridiculous and it would hardly stay running. Plugged in one of our bin files designed for this type of build and without even opening the hood it now drives like a stock truck...

i dont know what versions phil offered, but you need to find out if you want to keep that chip.
