I think my problem has to do with the BPW - Inj DC
I noticed some huge spikes while at cruising speed, from 15-30 mph

Hi Guys.
I took my truck to the California smog referees “Room of Doom” and they kicked me to the curb and labeled my truck as a “Gross Polluter”
Here what the reject slip said;
15 MPH – 1584 RPM (HC) - Max 127 – Measured 188 – (CO) – Max .55 – Measured .71 - FAIL
25 MPH 1495 RPM – HC – Max 108 – Measured 108 – (CO) – Max .69 – Measured .29 – Pass (barely)
The engine is new including all of the sensors, electronics, throttle body, distributor wires, cap, and UR6 plugs. The only things that are not new are the wiring harness, injectors and the Cat.
The Trans is built but is the original from the SGT and still retains the original governor.
The engine is completely stock (including the chip). The only modification is the downpipe. I had to fabricate one to clear the upper control arm but the o2 is in the same location and the pipe diameter is the same as the original.
The IC system is the only not hooked up.
I have tried two different ECUs with the same result.
At idle, the engine occasionally misses and hunts for a second or two. If you take it to about 2500 in neutral, it sounds like it misses about every 3 seconds or so.

Re: Datamaster help please

Just find some shady shop that will pass you for $.

Not that hard.

Or put an IC on it,get a new cat, run it with 87 octane with a new cat that is nice and hot.

Re: Datamaster help please

Try putting in the stock plugs (or UR5). UR6 plugs are a colder plug which may be contributing to your emissions. My truck seemed to idle slightly better with stock plugs compare to ur6's.

Stab it and steer it
Re: Datamaster help please

IMHO you're gonna have to buy a cat. There are Cal cats and everybody else cats. Make sure it's a Cal cat. Shop around but I understand they are over $200. Make sure to run the engine to get the cat hot before the test. (Already mentioned) Shop around, a few shops will run the truck in "test" or "off line" so the info doesn't go to Sac. A good muffler shop should be able to look at those numbers and tell if it's the cat or not. Lots of folks here can do the same, just not me...:rotf:

Also check fuel pressure.

Just my :2cents:
