DesertSy: It's Just a Driver

Stab it and steer it

Yellow snow???

Years ago my wife and I came over Donner in total white-out conditions. About 20 mph, mostly less. When I saw a snow bank I turned away from it. Best I could do. Chains were on and I was NOT going to stop. Wipers were almost useless, caked in ice. We would literally open the windows, reach around and try to push them away and let them slap back, the ice would break of and we'd go some more. Once down this side and we could start to see, we were the only car. They had closed the hwy. Last time I ever drove in the snow.

Happy you didn't hurt yourself or the truck!!

DaveP are you selling your truck ?

Yes. It is on the list of the ones to be sold. I would like to sell it by Feb 26, as that is the day its California registration expires. I also prefer that my cars leave California when they sell. It's called "Capital Flight" and I'm all for this state no longer benefiting economically from my assets after I sell them. Doing my part to BK this joke of a state.

It has some cosmetic issues I've been trying to get around to fixing before I actively market it. I'll of course sell it as-is, with a consideration to the price, but it's more salable if these are addressed first:

The front bumper needs refinishing, it is peeling in several places, and has some flaws that need to be filled, and is kind of tweaked.
The grill is broken, I have a replacement.
The cowl panel is peeling, and needs to be stripped and resprayed.
The LF arch came off. The tabs need to be fixed, and the arch reinstalled.

Everything is up to date. There's no deferred maintenance. The front tires are going to need replacement in the next couple thousand miles. One oddity is that occasionally the oil pressure goes full-scale high, and the Check Gauges light flashes. Usually lasts awhile, and goes off on its own. Annoying when it does it, but nothing is wrong with the oil pressure. I think it's the sender. Everything except the seat lumbar pumps work. It passes Cali emissions testing. Runs well, leaks nothing.

Fly into LAX, I'll pick you up. Give me a ride back to the house, we do the deal, then drive it home to any place in the country with confidence that it will most likely make it with not even minor problems, and certainly nothing major. This thing is well-sorted out. Don't detonate it, "chip" it, or modify it, and it will run for a very long time and give you miles of smiles just the way it is. I built a solid little driver. At some point in the future paint it back to stock colors, and it will be a damn nice Syclone. Even Damian might like it.

How's that for a sales-pitch?

If interested, PM for my number, and we'll chat.
Thanks for the interest.

DesertSy isn't the best looking truck out there, but I'd still own it. It's great because you just plop your ass in and drive it and it just does what it's supposed to do.

I thought you missed this Dave!
