Dodge Ram SRT10 +some

Not a kill, but I raced an SRT10 three times this weekend - all from about a 30mph roll, he got me lagging the first time and pulled about 3 lengths before braking, second time was closer to 1 length, third time I had him by 1 length but couldn't pull away.

It should be noted that he was spooling up like CRAZY when he gave it gas, zero lag, he was running some beast of a supercharger under the hood. I was under the impression those had a viper10 cyl stock, and no forced induction? correct? If so I don't feel as bad.

I doubt it was s/c. It might have been but i doubt it. You whould have to have some major stuff done to take on a S/C SRT-10. And it would be almost impossible to do it from a roll.

But you might have a lot more done than i no so, just my .02

SRT-10 = 2
Ty = 1

well I never said I took him, but I was definitely hanging near him

also, I know for a fact he had it s/c it was one the loudest spools I've had rev on me to date

if anyone in Abq sees him, it was on the west side on 528 & southern, the SRT10 was graphite in color

You would've left him from s stop. I bet those things are near impossible to launch. I think the all mighty professionals at car and driver pulled a 13.5 out of one.

I saw a nice silver one at a light today but we were going different directions. Stop, 30 mph roll, or otherwise he would have been one sorry Dodge owner.

LOL, If he did have a SC he would have left you standing there like a fat kid on a track meet.

Well, there was no IFs about it, he was spooling loudly, and he didn't leave me standing. He did beat me hands down, but only by a few lengths and he wasn't pulling that hard. Don't forget there is nothing stock about my Ty.

Have they cracked the code on the Hemi Engine Management yet? I heard that they hadn't...but I don't hang out on Dodge Forums so I wouldn't know.

Secondly...they do sell the Hemi Dodge trucks with the SRT-10 hood and spoiler...so it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to mix them up.

I dunno, I just highly doubt from a roll a modded sy/ty could keep up with a 600+ horsepower anything :D

Yes I drive a Typhoon.
Re: Dodge Ram SRT10 +some

I took a video of one at the track. It didn't look that fast to me.
I believe the best run was a 14 flat.
Everyone I talked to said It must have been another dodge w/
a hood etc. But I am confident at what I saw. What are these
things suppose to run stock? I know they have a bunch of
horsepower but look how BIG and HEAVY they are!

Quoted from www.dodge.com:
"No other truck comes close to this ultimate performance. No one else sports
a class-obliterating 500 horsepower and 525 lb-ft of torque. And no "toy"
truck can even think about topping 150 mph or reaching 60 mph in just over
5 seconds."

Heres a link to dragtimes. Car and Driver reported a 13.6 in the 1/4. And I'm
sure that was with a professional driver and a few tries.

Ya the SRT10 is an impressive truck, it's problem is it has too much hp/tq. Without a set of slicks, it'll roast the rear tires without a second thought. I'm sure as soon as someone throws a set of slicks on their SRT10, they'll easily be able to pull a low 13 or high 12 run.

Either way, I'll take a Sy any day over an SRT10. Specially considering if I took the money that I would have spent (no I could never actually afford one) on an SRT10, and invested it into my Syclone, I'd be giving Ed a run for his money. :)

Re: Dodge Ram SRT10 +some

I have no doubt in my mind that it was supercharged to keep up with your Typhoon. I am sure your Typhoon is easily in the 11's because it was close enough to that before you put that bigger turbo on it.

You are running Supercharged V10's, the only thing I can run in my Typhoon is Honda civics, damn I miss my white one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From what I have read an average driver runs high 13's, they were supose to run 12.9 according to Dodge's intial reports. I think the best I have heard any claim is 13.1 but they do have some MPH ~106mph, so it wouldn't be advisable for any stock SyTy to tangle with one from a roll. The clutch is also suposedly a weak point and the rear brakes are too large to fit any current drag radial or slicks, so that will hinder them some unless the owner does a brake swap.

hm, interesting point, never really thought that they wouldnt even be able to fit a set of slicks.

 <-- no I'm not mad, I just saw this guy over on the side and thought he was funny... :)
