Re: drag radial

yes the chance of breakin stuff is greater if you lock it up harder and don't use heavier components. have you already bought the nittos? i think they are a very good tire, but i also think they need to be spun harder to make them work well. the bfg's are a little softer. they don't last as long if you drive them on the street though as the nittos

Re: drag radial

no i havet bought them just trying to find the best set of tires for traction. i know that there is a much better chance or breaking something in the drivetrain im just wondering if anyone is running these or the bfs and having any problems

Re: drag radial

My Ty had BFG Comp T/A DRs and had quite a few quick passes on the stock transfer case and propshaft without problems. Of course with these trucks, every one is different. I've known stock propshafts that broke with all-season tires and normal street use.

Re: drag radial

kind of hard to tell breakage on mine. i had a thousand horsepower propshaft, almost 4 thousand dollar tran, aluminum driveshaft, and built 12inch bolt rearend. he's right though. each one is different. also, mine had so much power i would still spin em. if you can spin em it takes a little strain off instead of just hookin. if you want drag radials and you want em to stick i would look at the bfg's or micky thompson. i always got a good deal on the bfg's through either costco or sams club

Re: drag radial

I know this will sound like blasphemy on a board where everyone drag races but seeing as I can hit 11.5's easily enough and don't plan on installing a roll cage I'm actually going to ditch the Nitto's in favor of something that handles better. The Nitto's are nice during a boost launch but handle horribly.
