Drivetrain howling, Front Diff?

Have a Drivetrain howling noise. Replaced the right front wheel bearing due to play and thought the noise was comin from there. Still have the Noise. I removed the Front propshaft and NO more noise. Being that the front diff is still technical turning from the cv axles could it still be the diff? Like a pinion bearing or something? And since the transfercase is still turning the rear 100% I don't know if it would be the transfer case. Any ideas?

All the Fluids were just changed a month ago, along with the Drivers Front Diff axle seal.

The Noise occurs at 20mph and continues to get worse with Speed. The Noise doesn't occur with the truck jacked up with all 4 off the ground coating 20-40mph, maybe only happens with Load, like a bad bearing??

Gears are worn, or its a carrier bearing that can't keep the pinion alignment and its wearing...

I would wager money on front pinion bearing done....

Not to hijack, but a similar issue. This got me to thinking about a noise I have in the front only when first driving it. It only happens for the first 30-60 seconds...then goes away. I've always thought maybe front diff.....but many years and miles later, no drivability issues or failure. It's just something that is slightly annoying. Did you notice it when you drove my truck Sean?

No I didn't notice the noise Steve.

I'm currently occasionally driving the Ty Rear wheel drive until I put it away in 2 months, then the Winter projects will be begin....again.

2 wheels......lots of fun, smoke, and new set o tires. Right? I miss sliding my old 79 Z and 87 Formula 350 around corners.
