East Coast Sy/Ty Extravaganza in 2003

Mike Renz and I have been toying around with the idea of putting together a major Sy/Ty event on the East Coast for 2003.

We've talked to a track and hotel that are close to Pittsburgh PA that would both be willing to work with us to host an event the last weekend in May or the first weekend in June 2003.

The hotel was built in 1998 and is very nice with reasonable room rates (read way under the price for the 2002 nats rooms). The track is quicker than e-town and is a 1/4 mile track.

Before we commit to anything, we need to get an idea for the interest in attending this kind of a coastal meet. We're not looking for suggestions at this point, just a general head count of interested owners. If we decide there is enough interest (30-50 people) then we'll come back for suggestions and people who would like to help put the event together.

Our hope is that if the event goes forward it could be moved up and down the coast every year, to let people near Ohio/PA/NJ/MD have it close one year and the people near Florida/Virginia/Carolina's/Georgia have it close another year.

I couldn't agree more.. we definately need to video tape it when we beat the crap out of renz.. we can put that on the same tape that we use to record all of our trucks pulling away from him going down the track... :evil:

Nice. Usually a NASTE meet is 10-15 people, depending on which part of jersey we usually meet in. I would love to see all 30 or 40 something members in one spot. count me in for sure!

exactly, NASTE is 40+ members now, plus a few I havent had time to add yet (sorry guys, I will do it). If you get most of NASTE, plus Mid-Atlantic, Freakin Ohio, IN, VA, exc. exc., it could be a great meet. It could also be a good Pre-Nats so we can organize cravans, and ideas for the BIG SHOW.
