fan/ shroud issues--- need help

Hi,

After installing new motor mounts found that the fan is striking the fan shroud. I tried to 'raise' the shroud w/ spacers but the rad. hose and cross over tube push the shroud back down.
So, I know need some experience/ advice on solutions. I did do an archieve search and found some suggestions on elect fans---this is the route I don't want to go.
Anyone have an idea on a smaller diameter fan from another GM vehicle that will bolt to a syty water pump shaft? If so, what vehicle?
Flex fans: do they work well on the Syty application? Would consider a flex as close to last ditch (scars on fingers from previous)(yes, gloves work----- was a young punk kid...).
I don't want to hack the stock fan or destroy the rest of the shroud...
Please, any help/ thoughts/ ideas would be great. This is 1 of 3 things keeping me from driving the sy. (still have the torsion bar mount and tach/oil pressure gauges to fix..)

Thanks all

Hi,

using the Jeff Scott mounts w/ ES polys... The fan is rubbing on the top inside portion of the shroud- just below where the cross-over tube is (inside the shroud).
Any ideas????
Flex fan concerns???

Thanks

Do you have a flex fan or stock?

I have had no issues with fan clearance and my mounts as of yet. Not saying it CANT happen, but hasn't yet. (probably 40+ trucks running my mounts now).

Did it hit in the same spot before?

Wondering if radiator is off, or fan spacing.

HMM.

trans mount is bad - dropping back of motor down/front up.
take a look.

Or the frame is bent :p George glad to hear you are still having fun with the truck.

Patrick,

The term 'fun' should NOT be attached to anything to do with this truck. It could be worse, it could have been a northern truck (all that AWESOME) rust to deal with.... Thank god my knuckles have years of scar tissue encapsulating them....
As far as the trans mount- brand new, poly bushing. The front suspension parts are all new as well. The only shot bushing/ mount is the PS torsion bar mount.
Jeff- as I said before- excellent product! I like the look and function of your motor mounts. The radiator is in stock location with stock rubber mounts in place. As fa as fan spacing, fan is as stock (location wise) as from the factory.
I am going down to the boneyard to see if I can match something up. I will post whatever I find.
Thanks for all of the continued help.

OK,

Placed some hard rubber shims at the base of the shroud to raise it the 1" I needed. Everything is all set.
Thanks everyone,
