That sounds like our rear diffs.

I think that the only option for the front diff is a "lok right" locker that replaces the spider and pinion gears.

I've driven a few trucks with them in the rear, kinda noisy. I'm not too sure what the street manners would be like in the front diff.

The Lock Rite is the only option that I know of for a front diff.....but you may want to look at 4 x4 guys....

I forget if the front diff has a designation....but the 4x4 blazer , astro , etc - its all the same....

There were a few trucks with them...

But dos it work ok in the front axle, thinking about turning and so on?

I found this online http://www.lcengineering.com/GearsLockers.htm do we have a 7.5" in our front axles?

Update, that was for Toyota, missed that part duh?

Ok i found it, the Detroit Truetrac is the way to go with our front axles. Here is some information about it:

http://www.lightcomworld.com.au/products/detroit/detroit.htm

Here is a price from one company:

DETROIT TRUETRAC GM 7.25 IFS -26 SPL 3.54 & DOWN
$325.00
911A380
DETROIT TRUETRAC GM 7.25 IFS -26 SPL 3.54 & DOWN

Or the link:

http://www.nationaldrivetrain.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page44.html

I think that is the best we can do for our front axles, it works like an open diff on the highway, no steering problems according to the manufactor. What do you all think?

3.54 and down... i would guess that would mean numerically, a larger number? so that would make it a no-go for our stock 3.42s?

Nope, 3.42 is below 3.54 so it fit.

you definately don't want the Lock right in your front end. It acts like a spool almost. I had one in my 1990 S-10 4x4 in the front end, and I kept destroying idler arms, tie rods, and complete alignment, every time I gouged it in four wheel drive. I even lowered the torsion bars to the point of having my center link and tie rods in a straight line, and I still would destroy the Moog "problem solver" brand new idler arm in a matter of minutes. The tires would toe in towards each other every time. I never knew the true trac was available for the front ends of our little trucks, but I think it would be the way to go.
