fuel pressure

I am running an ultimate with the 50# chip. I have a PTE 52, atr headers both of which makes for more air. when I try to run the stock injectors I can't push enough fuel to feed it no matter how high the pressure, and when I go to the 50# injectors I keep running so rich that I don't have any power. I have the fuel pressure turned down now to 19 pounds, and datamaster says I'm still running O2 V of over 900. As long as I keep it under 14 pounds of boost I don't really get spark retard of more than about 1.4. I'm running the chip now on T2 17with 93 octane I checked to see the pressure was right on my autometer guage with another guage and it is. As expected it is worse with race fuel, which I would like to use at the track so I could turn the boost up, but that would mean I would have to turn the pressure even lower. I only ever run the boost up to about 19 pounds maxs with the biggerturbo and stock pistons and rods. I'm using a blitz boost controller and just use the chip for timing and fueling. has anyone else ever run such little fuel pressure? I was wondering if Brian has the fueling set on the chip that rich soas to need to run such light pressure. (YOU OUT THERE BG?)

I've had some troubles getting this chip to run for me and I'm wondering if the problem has been I've just been giving it too much fuel pressure, but 19 pounds doesn't seem like enough. I must tell you that as I've turned down the pressure the truck has started running better

anybody have any opinions? I was hoping that BG might be surfing tonight and help me out.

1 - go find out what program you have, by reading the label on the eprom on the Ultimate.

2- go to www.chitownsyty.com and educate yourself on the chip. T2 17 is not T2 17 on the later chip programs

You should DEFINITELY not run 19psi of fuel pressure, and something is outta wack.
Did Jerry install the cihp for you? or did you do it ?

I would pay more attention to spark retard numbers than O2 values. Your stock O2 is not much of a tuning tool, taken by itself...

50 # beta version 2. Jerry installed the chip and injectors the first time. Todd installed the chip the second time and we datamastered it together, and I've put it in the 3rd and 4th time when I've reinstalled the 50# injectors. It is aabsolutely too lean now with the turbo, intake, and headers unless you keep the boost way down with stock injectors.

It wont stay running at all on t115 or 16, and has a huge flat spot on 17 and above and the idle is really bad right up until it dies. Jerry couldn't get it to run on any t1 setting. He had it going on t2 17 the best, which is what I have it on now. I turned the pressure up a little today since you said that little pressure was a no-no. It is running with setting of T2 17, max boost at 16.8, O2 running 935ish, and fuel pressure set to 24# with vacume line on (32 off) 0 spark retard. AC plugs don't look too bad, a little rich, which is what datamaster shows. thought I would throw a new set of UR 5's in next week

am tuning to run street gas on t217 (richest) and t2 18 (leanest) for race fuel. I can send you some datamaster if you want.

thanks

Les, I've made some changes and have a version 3 coming out that will address some of these issues (this goes for anyone else running 50s on the stock motor).

It will be available to any of the guys on the board capable of burning chips, so you can let me or one of them know if you need an upgrade/reburned chip.
