General Transmission questions

Is the trans in the Typhoon a typical 4l60? Is there anything special? The reason I ask is I just bought my ty and notice that under full load it does not shift as smoothly as I would expect. There seems to be a slight hesitation. Could this be something to do with needing a good tune-up or possibly the TV cable adjustment?

basically a normal 60e with a few gm tweaks inside, valve body seperator plate, etc.

They are not known to be the best part of our trucks.
