Hi all....new to the SY/Ty forums but not to the turbo Buick ones.....thinking about adding to the collection and have seen a couple people taking advantage of the $$$$.....how hard is it to get a Sy into Canada and what changes has to be made....I'm in ON so still have to worry about emissions testing for a couple more years......thanks in advance.....Dave

it's more than 15 years old. Drive it to the border, pay your taxes and then get it safetied. Pretty darn easy. There's a few guys in your neck of the woods that have sy/ty's. Just make sure the U.S border has a copy of the title for 72 hours before you bring it across.

Thnanks for the posts guys.....I didn't figure it would be too hard with the age....but was looking at an SRT Crossfire and found out it needed $2500-$3000 work to comply.....what did Canadian Tire have to do to bring it in line for safety.....daytime running lights? emissions? Thanks again....Dave

My local GM dealership is also aproved to do the Canadian aproval saftey. They let me by with out doing the changes. At the time the sy`s were no problem to bring in but the ty I was luckey to get it into Canada. When I was looking to bring a sy across the boarder a few years back it was going to cost about $25000 by the time it landed. You can now get a great truck For under $12000.

When your ready to buy....let me know and I can help you get all the paperwork in order to import a sy/ty into Ontario and then guide you through registration.Sy's are easy to import.Ty's are a little harder...but it can be done with minimal difficulties.Several of us have imported in the last year.

Thanks again to all....Courtice isn't all that far away so I will defiitely take you up on your offer when the time comes.......when that time will be????????? is the question......I'm currently a week out of back surgery so I have waaaaaaay too much time on my hands right now to shop lol......hopefully sooner rather than later
