i cant seem to shake the even with everyone syndrome...

crusining 70mph down a major highway, see a GT that im coming up on...

didnt start anything, i glanced over at him as i went by.. lowered and exhaust was only things visable... few small stickers on the rear window couldnt make out...

gave him a nod...went about my way... got about 4 lengths in front of him before i think he saw the NO MUSTANGS magnet on the tailgate and the MYSY 8U plate...

sure enough, i see the nose lift up and hes on his way up....


alright... here we go, this isnt going to be good going up against a GT doing 70mph.. i havent got much left before the brickwall effect takes over...

side by side, he punches it quick, lets off... i look over and we go.



dammit, we stayed fender to fender.... buried the needle past 120mph, stayed right next to each other...

stay in it for a good 2 miles or so before my intercooler temps have had enough and i shut down....no one was going to win this one and i dont need a piston out the block...


he went ahead a bit... came back up on him... gave him a thumbs up...he returned with a nice wave, smile and nodded....

dunno exactly what mods he had, definately not stock, but not super fast either....i think he got a little more than what he was expecting..... i dont think he was hoping to see me hang next to him the whole way like i did...



time to start that turbo port and polish for those extra tenths... :wink:

I know your tranny is hurting...before you start motor / turbo work...rework that tranny with bonafide parts off of Hartman's list and I think you will see a great improvement. If then...that doesn't do it for you...work the turbo setup like E said.

i do have tranny issues...

its my TC, and i dont have the few hundred to get a new one...


im kinda stuck in a position where if i go to a bigger stall, i dont have the turbo to back it up...which means my truck will be slow as piss off the line until i gain some boost...and i dont want to drive around like this for a year until i can afford a turbo.


or

i can buy (or maybe given?) a stock TC, put that back in and be fine for now... less costly and i still be able to haul ass.



i have a 1-2 shudder in OD, thats all.... i just can do heavy launches, especially in OD, cause i know i'll spray the trans all over the ground.



plus, eventually when i do a turbo, ive had my eye on doing a TE44 setup, and that money wont come for awhile.... a least a year.

im not going to spend big money on my sy now and the reason is because i plan on buying another syclone thats needs major TLC and doing a major build for low 10s for street use and making money. :fadein:


so for now, im doing easy stuff... and im sick of that mismatch on the turbo.... time to gain my tenths i deserve for free...



damn trucks...
