Hagerty Insurance

I’ve joined their insurance and they impressed me. $30,000 value insured in my Syclone, 73k miles and rebuilt title. $66 a month.

In my opinion Hagerty is very promised on value and will not screw any of us with SyTy.3F5A4A4D-D591-4EEF-A96C-6EF4D6C14997.jpeg

My experience with them was not pleasant at all. I am with Grundy and they treat me very well but I'm glad your experience with them was better.

Hagerty writes both Stated Value and Agreed Value policies. They are not the same thing. If you have a Stated Value policy with the amount "Stated" as being $30,000, and you have a total loss claim, you will not be getting $30,000 for your loss.

Agreed Value are the ones that pay the "Agreed Amount" in the event of a total loss. An annual premium of $792 seems light for a $30,000 agreed value policy on a salvage title vehicle. You probably have Stated Value. Agreed Value policy premiums are more expensive than Stated Value policy premiums.

Hagerty is an agency. Not an insurance company. Virtually all of these classic car insurance policies are underwritten by three insurance companies that writes these policies. Hagerty is an agent for Essentia Insurance Company, which underwrites Hagerty's classic car policies.

I insure my Typhoon, and both Corvettes on my regular policies. With the multi-vehicle discounts, these 3 vehicles are about $250 each a year. No mileage or other usage restrictions. I have very low risk of loss because they generally never leave my house. Only the Ty and ZR-1 have comprehensive coverage ("theft") and the ZR-1 has collision (hitting something) because it is valuable enough, and I drive it enough and hard enough there is some risk of wrecking it myself, or getting hit in it. My 27,000 mile ZR-1's value is close to the $30k you have for your Sy. The ZR-1 is $230 a year for the entire policy. It would be a shit-fight to get an appropriate settlement, but there are several C4 ZR-1 sold on BaT every week. Easy to find comps. $230 beats hell out of $792. And no restrictions on mileage or usage.
No it’s agreed value. Total loss I get 30k, nothing else.
You can call em and ask em & quote and ask more questions. That’s what I did. They even wanted my pictures of Syclone everywhere include rear box. No mileage limits mention either. If my Sy got stolen and I’ll have $30k guaranteed.

I’ve told hagerty that I race it sometime, 2-4 times a year after they asked me if I race it. I had to tell the truth. So that is possibly reason?

You guys are lucky. I pay AAA $1200 for no good reason. Even just to take my Ty off PNO they said I should go to DMV because it was too complicated for them.

Try hagerty and see if you like their quote with your decision guaranteed value. You tell em how much value.

It’s time to renew for me and I remembered this thread. AAA wants $1427 annual premium. I checked Hagerty, first quote

Then I matched coverage close to my AAA, just medical is $1,000 where AAA is $2,000 per person, and got

This is for two cars 2018 Mustang and the 93 Typhoon. I put the Typhoon at $34K and the Mustang at $28K. I have this month to keep looking, but I want out of AAA for sure. They didn’t help at all for a dude that hit my car going against traffic PLUS a police report.

Ouch!!!!
I know the fact Hagerty won’t do that. They are classic vehicles insurance and know well about SyTy since they posted videos of Syclone on YouTube.
That’s include free tow for 20 miles I think. Gotta to check double.

With Grundy I'm paying $208 a year. Its up to 25k in comprehensive and 25k in collision. Zero deductible. Admittedly, i need to up that amount to probably 30 or 35k. I haven't filed any claims with them but they do return my phone calls which is more than i can say for Hagerty.

You need to find an insurance carrier that understands classic vehicles. I can speak for my experience with Hagerty but have heard nothing but great things from Grundy. I pay $681 a year with $27k on my sy and $20k for the wife’s 92 vette through hagerty. The wife had a 91 vette (62,000 miles all original metallic teal vert) that was total loss with agreed value of $18k. She was coming home from seeing our son when got back from his deployment. 800 mile round trip to different state and some jackass pulled out in front of her when she was going 70mph. She was still 380miles away in a different state and Hagerty didn’t even flinch. We received full agreed value with in a month. My next choice was to go with Grundy if our rates when up from her accident last year but they didn’t.

Ugh. I declined their offer. They didn't want to insure the ‘18 Mustang because it was considered a daily driver. The quote was $203.76 for just the Typhoon. Lead on like a dog for nothing. Back to looking...

Yep i understand your situation. I carry two policies, one for my daily drivers with a run of the mill insurance company and one for the sy with grundy. There are stipulations with grundy. I have to have the truck locked in the garage nightly and i can only take it to work once a month. Not a big deal for me. I've had it 4 years and only put 3000 miles on it.
