Harbor Freight sale that should interest SyTy owners

Re: Harbor Freight sale that should interest SyTy owners

Found these online a few days ago; I wonder if they're decent.

Nice find, thanks. I'm going to get some of these, amazing warranty (5-years) and they seem to have great explanations and feedback - USA made is the #1 reason I'm buying them though. I already have some of the cheap POS ones for my snowmobile, what garbage

blegh, everything Harbor Freight needs a bit of working over after you buy it to function.

How much are good caster wheels? $5 a pop? Sure, its another $80 bucks, but $180 is still a LOT less than $300+. New casters and some flat metal stock to reinforce the caster bolt area and your golden. A little bit of work but still a lot less in price than anything else.

Of course that is assuming a good cleaning and regreasing of the moving parts doesn't fix it first.

I have yet to by anthing more complicated than a pair of pliars from HF that didn't need some sort of tweaking to work right, but after tweaking it everything works just just as intended for less than "better" quality parts could be bought elsewhere. Heck, half the reason I buy HF stuff is to go back home and modify it. I love being in the garage working on a project, so HF products are perfect, by themselves they are another project to put me in the garage!

i have a set of Go-Jaks. They dont fit a 275 tire, useless.

get out the hole-saw and start drillin. Make it lighter to push.

I have contemplated buying some 3/8" plate, have four holes punched into it at the shop, and pick up some nice casters from McMaster. Trying to keep low profile though.

One last note: I can state that the following can happen (if your not careful) with cheaper units:
-while the rear tires/axle rarely move (especially if the vehicle is in park) during the moving of the vehicle
-the front tires CAN move and "kick" the unit into your front cladding if an obstacle is incountered while pushing from the rear. In other words, the front tires can jump/roll off lodging/launching the plate into the cladding and subsequently wedging itself between the tire and fender.

Seen it happen (but other than buying the expensive side mounted dollies Im not sure what else one could afford to do cheaply except to use a floor jack).
