First, DO NOT VOTE OR POST IF YOU HAVE ZERO INTEREST IN ATTENDING! This poll is for data analysis to help benefit the community as a whole. If you have never wanted to attend an event, your truck never leaves your garage or if its not in your back yard you have no interest, then please don't vote.

Second, vote with your heart, but be honest. With the recent post of the 2000 Nats video coming up, if a new SyTy event we to happen with 75+ trucks, specialty trucks, prizes, vendors, competitions and racing... would you be more willing to go than just a normal SyTy event? If so, vote like that.

I'm going to try and pack in as many possible choices as I can in this poll, I will leave an "other" choice at the bottom, but please post your answer below.

I have personally driven my Typhoon 1220+ Miles each way to Kansas City Nats multiple times and would do it again in a heartbeat.

Re: How far are you willing to travel for a major SyTy Event?

I would be in the 2-500 mile category. However if it followed a very large event that lasted longer it would make more distance worth it. Being that my blazer isn't a true syty I guess I should vote other? I wouldn't want an event to be based on non syty vehicles locations.

I'm a former owner but for any event it will require my half typhoon blazer to be finished first. Should be driveable soon unless there is a major delay.

I've done 460 miles to the Car Craft Nat's ( Minneapolis) can't really see myself going any farther for a show under 100 cars. I have hopped on a airplane and flown to California and Florida for a couple car shows, again not small events.

I'm guessing the more jam pack the event with fun activities the further most be willing to travel. But im no expert.

i am def interested in getting to these events and i have a decent running truck so im good for the 500-800 range because it falls close to what i would more prefer up to ie 6xx miles, but doesn't put me out if it HAS to go further outside.

I apologize if the poll is confusing, if you made an error in your vote or wish to change your vote, I can do that for you, just PM me.

I understand, it could be 100+ vehicles, I'm speaking for SyTys only at the moment since I cannot predict the future. Everything is hypothetical at the moment, all I'm looking for is honest answers.

I 100% agree with you.

SyTy events are kinda like the old "it takes money to make money" adage. When only 25-30 trucks are going to be attending, others that are on the fence do not feel compelled to go, however 50 - 75 trucks, maybe a 4 day event and some special features, that changes everything. That is what I'm hoping for here.

 thats what I like to hear.

Re: How far are you willing to travel for a major SyTy Event?

Made the trip out to Kansas City for nats driving my Syclone a couple of times right at 10hrs.

Hell went to Orlando once for the SyTy Shindig towing Jeff"s Ty.

So 500 miles is my normal limit, but for the right place, at the right time of year (Fall), with the right kind of people. I could be inticed to drive up to 800 miles.

Im willing to travel further now that I know my truck is more mechanically sound. I planned on doing the Colorado Nats but had I gone I probably would have been stranded at one point.

Depending on other logistics, probably any place I could get to in half a day or so.
Bowling Green. Nashville. Louisville. St Louis. Atlanta. Indy. Pigeon Forge. Etc.
Except for Memphis.

1200 miles puts me in Denver from the west coast. Probably the absolute max for me in the truck. Salt Lake City is closer so, of course, easier./cheaper. As always, it depends...

Went to KC three times from Miami. Drove once, towed once, hauler once. 1500 miles each way. But there were over 100 trucks each time. Now I think Bowling Green is about my limit.

1000 miles and counting..
Re: How far are you willing to travel for a major SyTy Event?

1000 miles from my house (Alberta, Canada.) puts me in Salt Lake City. I would make that drive in a heartbeat for a special occasion Syty meet.
I would trailer my Syclone.

my interest in going to an event decreases exponentially based on fewer and fewer members and trucks at the event.
Bolling Green from Louisville. No problem. If the crowd is big.

Re: How far are you willing to travel for a major SyTy Event?

I like driving my cars, so I may be more apt to drive considerably more distance compared to most peeps on here. The distance I'll drive depends on what I anticipate the "value" of the event will be for me. Hindsight is always 20/20, but here's a recap based on my enjoyment and satisfaction considering return on expenditure in time and money to attend:

KC 99 1,700 miles each way. Drove the Blazer. It was OK, but a 50/50 for doing it again.
KC 00 1,700 miles each way. Drove a Ty. Only stayed an hour and split. Would not go again.
GB 01 1,350 miles each way. Drove a Ty. Enjoyed the caravan with other SoCal folks. Kind of subdued and truncated event because it was 3 days after 9/11/2001. I would go again.
BG 09 2,100 miles each way. Drove a Ty. Well-organized, weather cooperated, lots of activities, peeps from all over attended. I would go again.
Denver 11 1,100 miles one way. I was registered, but did not attend. With a week to go it was shaping up to be a Local Denver meet. I did not go, and would not register again.
BG 13 2,100 miles each way. Drove a Sy. Complete opposite to BG09. Weather sucked, while the organizers tried, overall the organization was less than stellar. I enjoyed meeting up with Jeff and Dave in Louisville. This same event again; I'd stay in Louisville and not go down to BG.

Gary's in Miami. 09,10,11 and 12. 2,750 miles one way. 2 trips in a Ty, 2 in my AWD Blazer. I used to combine this event with an NCRS Regional, and a work-trip for a client's boat in Ft. Lauderdale. Matt and I did 2012 as a dedicated trip just to attend Gary's in Miami. We were gone 6-1/2 days, almost 6,000 miles. I can't justify the expense to do this trip as a stand-alone event, but if it ever becomes possible to combine it with other activities, (particularly a paid work gig) I'd do it again in an instant.

I'll drive a long way, even cross-country, but I have to feel it will be worth it.

Re: How far are you willing to travel for a major SyTy Event?

I have driven my truck the 1100 miles to BG. I have driven further with Dennis Kaese, but that distance is really pushing for it me. On longer trips I would probably fly in. I would have likely flown in this year; partially that is because I started a new job and don't have much vacation.

Depending on the amount of trucks that are going and how big the venue is I would trailer the Typhoon 1000+ miles. It good to read about all the trucks on the site and finally see them in person and to really meet the person with the headaches.

I voted other. I would drive any distance if my truck is together. I would also drive someone elses truck any distance if they let me.
