damn you. the wife and kid went out of town for 2 days, too bad it wasn't the weekend or i could have gotten a lot more done. old battery was completely dead. wouldn't even take a charge. gas tank was empty. put in 3 gallons of 87 just to fire it up. took it for a spin up the street. smells like it's leaking oil somewhere and my guess is the turbo. ugh. maybe i'll ignore it and it'll go away. probably should give it an oil change.

Near as I can guess its been since aug/sept of '04 for the sy. Pulled the trans because it was slipping bout ready to put it back in and pulled valve covers to install new ones and noticed tiny metal shavings in the heads. Pulled the engine and it sat for a while waiting for me to get to it, truthfully not really sure why it took so long for me get it back together but its getting closer to driveable everyday

It runs and moves around my work just missing radiator hose etc. Soon though very soon!

well i just bought my truck and i'm already feeling the pain. So i think i'm gonna go back to enjoying my other pride and joy my 87 GN that i have had for 10yrs i have never seemed to lost interest in it even when i broke the motor twice.



NCTyphoon's truck has been sitting in my garage for almost a yr. The oil filter adapter gasket blew out and it killed the crank and she has had to let it sit till the monies got right to rebuild it. truck has 160k on it. any taker on the trans holding out much longer with anew motor?
