welcome to AN fitting world.

I think I counted like $400 worth of stuff just on my intake.

I started to call it my retirement fund. :D :D

I know of others, with very similar expenses.

The key is to find someone that can get you something like a "racers list" price.
Otherwise your going to be paying retail like everyone else.
One last thing, if you want to keep the price down, try not to use any angled fittings. Those start bumping the price up considerably.

Yes, there is "no easy way out" if U want AN fittings. I've got many $100's tied up in them. Some little tips - The Aeroquip hose seems to be a little cheaper than the Earls. I think they R comparable. And the angled fitting thing mentioned - wherever possible, make your angle turn w the brass fittings.

I tried to go w flared brake lines & fittings for Fuel line to save AN $$, but that doesn't work - it leaks. About the only alternative cheaper than AN is tubing w compression fittings. I noticed that Summit now has coiled SS available in 20' rolls. I may be running a 2nd fuel line in Mai Ty, and I bought some of this tubing and will use brass fittings w it.. It should be cheaper than AN and stronger - just not as flexible. Copper and steel tubing would be cheaper still.

Just looked over that ASR website. In general their prices R higher than Summit, but they offer some advantages :

1.) U can buy by the Ft., which could save some $$ in some cases.

2.) They have the odd sizes in the cheaper Auto-Flex hose - AN 5,7,9.

3.) They have the Tubing to AN adapters, which I didn't see in Summit.

I noticed that the Aeroquip hose equivalent to the more expensive Earls Perform-O-Flex hose is about 20-30 % cheaper in Summit. However, the Earls NPT to AN adapters R cheaper. They R supposedly interchangeable.

Be careful, I bought some aeroquip line, and earl's fittings.

I couldn't get things to match up. Might have been operator error, but earl's line worked fine.

I now have Aeroquip -06 hose hanging on the wall as reminder.

the thing i like to do on my cars is to hard line 304 stainless as much as possible, then run swagelok fittings and flex lines(or parker). they are easy to use than AN, but cost more. the stainless tube can be bought at a lot of suppliers. i use mcmaster carr. you can get it even cheaper if you shop around. and anything i cant adapt , i tig weld a hybrid adapter. if anyone in nj area needs help with ic piping, shoot me a pm since i now have a tig at my house--->mike

I like swagelok stuff and stainless line. We use it all over the plant at work. The down side to it is it weighs a ton if you have lotsa fittings or line. Oh, and it costs an arm and a leg.

that is my situation also. my work buys a couple thousand $$ in swagelok every month, all we use is stainless lines and tubing. the swagelok guys love us, lol. looks really nice; really expensive and heavier though. its nice since you can run metal, plastic, or rubber lines to the fittings. the biggest issue other than what i mentioned is when you need to install valves or adapters you sometimes end up with a long series of fittings.

Don't go down that road expecting to spend any less than triple what you estimated. -10 from the lower IC to aux. and upper was a bit more than I thought, but w/the -06 turbo oil line and -06 to the bed mounted trans cooler and remote filter it looks great, lasts forever and is easy as hell to use after installation.

Hey, the prices on the ANP website look a little cheaper than the ASR website - Good Find, Jeremy.

A word of warning on the Turbo Oil return which I will be doing in AN. PTE recommends # 10-12 AN 4 this line. I guess some of the bigger turbos have had oil starvation problems w smaller sizes.

While we're on fittings, I just noticed that Waterman @ www.watermanracing.com has Quick Connect fittings w AN males on each end. Some of U racing types might be interested in that.

Does anyone have AN to Inverted Flare ?
