I am looking for the accumulator/dryer insulation and the in-line vaccum operated valve.

Also which oil and I supposed to use in the system PEG or PAG? Has anyone tried GHG-X8 Autofrost an R134a replacement?

I did a retrofit 6 years ago to R134a and my compressor died. I already replaced the condensor and got a variable orifice tube. I also purchased new lines and the AC manifold behind the controls. Obviously I also purchased a new compressor.

Thanks

there is a condeser for 134 retrofit for s-t trucks, I havent put mine in yet but the instructions clame 30% better cooling P/N GM 52482105 AC delco 15-6956

All of the retrofit kits come with PAG but if you replace the dryer and flush everything I dont think it makes a differance what oil is use.

I retrofited a 89 s-10 last week, didnt change anything just evac-recharged. it is cooling 37f at vent with outside 88f 44% humidty. hope i get that much out of mine.

Sorry, my CD with the TSBs is at work. I will say, that you MUST use PAG oil with R134 whether or not you flush the system. 134 will not transport the R12 oil through the system correctly. Your compressor will not be properly lubricated, and will fail prematurely.

I also 'converted' without doing anything except putting in R134 and PAG oil. Been going strong for 2 years now in Texas heat. However, I do have a problem with the hoses at the compressor. Everytime I R&R the battery I leak out most of my Freon.

Anyone know where to get a replacement SyTy A/C hose? It's not the same as the S-10 part.

Last time I checked they were out of stock. I stole the set off the Ty and used them on the Sy. They are different between the Sy and Ty. They are slightly longer on the Ty.

However with my upcoming "musical engines" I'll need them back for the Ty.

I have a normal S series set of hoses that I think will work with my A2A setup however they will not work at all with the stock IC
"Musical Engines" will be a whole nother post.

Hi, Patrick. Yeah, the SyTy hose assy has a really sharp bend out of the compressor to clear the IC. A local shop can get the standard S-10 hose assy cheap, but can't get the SyTy unit. I'm sure the aluminum tubing is cracked at the compressor block. I'm tempted to try JBWeld. I'm sure it's going to be pricey if I have to have one welded up custom.
