I think the rumor is the original magazine test truck used a 20g turbo. Magazine probably didn't rev the engine in nuetral and build up any significant boost in their test drives.

When running properly, I think on average a Lightning is quicker than a Ty and on average a Sy is quicker than a Sy. Age and a finicky truck definatley hurt our 1/4 mile numbers than are being post now.

Everytime I goto the track I see Lightnign running 13.3-13.6's but even one of them has been lightly modified and can't get traction. I know a lot of Sy owners who ran a 13.5-6 stock only to find out later something wasn't upto par. (My sy ran a 13.6 but had a malfuntioning IC pump and bad ECM)

my buddy had a freak '02 L, he beat anything that he lined up against on the street...he never got it to the track though, so no timeslips. But he did smoke numerous SLP SS's, WS6's, MODDED lightnings, and I was in the truck with him when he ran an EVO. The guy said he was running high 12's in the quarter and was dumping the clutch but only got to the L's front fender. He smoked my ty, and he pulled 1.9 60's according to G-tech...in the rain! Like I said earlier, his truck was a runner.

Is this the guy that lives right across from your parents? You have to get your current build running right and bring the Ty back up here to spank him

Yeah, his truck is FAST as hell. He raced a lingenfelter s/c C5 on the highway and wasn't getting pulled on that hard. If all Lightnings ran like that I've got a lot of respect for those trucks.

Thank's for the info, my friend's 92' Ty(19k mile's) several year's ago ran 13.58's stock at 101 mph, but I do not have time-slip's to back it up. :-?
