Is my front DIFF going out

Was putting the prop shaft on today and noticed the diff was leaking pretty good, which I ahd actually noticed a month ago. I had the truck in P and grabbed the input to the diff and turned it back and fourth. I had a good inch of play there. Funny thing is that I notice d a whine when off the throttle before I did my trans but didnt really notice it til I put that shaft back in today. Its not super loud but noticeable. Any thoguths? If it does go bad, is it ok to yank it out and still drive around til I getit fixed?

You stated you were leaking fluid, did you check if the fluid was low? I would start by fixing the leak and change the fluid. I went with amsoil. Its only if i remember correctly a quart and a half. :tup:
